Mr. Jefferson McCree "Jeff" Jones, age 27, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, July 17, 2015 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Jeff was born May 11, 1988 in Dalton, GA. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilburn and Nellie Jones and James Atkinson, aunt, Vickey Atkinson and uncle, Lester Atkinson.
Jeff was an independent computer contractor. He worked with NASA on the Juno Project. He was very gifted when it came to working on computers.
He is survived by his parents, Patsy and Bruce Jones of Chatsworth, GA; grandmother, Granny Mae Atkinson; step-grandmother, Delia Jones both of Dalton, GA; uncles and aunts, Wayne and Debbie Jones of Dalton, GA, Mickey and Kelley Atkinson of Chattanooga, TN, Randy Atkinson, David Atkinson, Leeroy and Christy Atkinson, Charles and Mary Atkinson all of Dalton, GA, Larry and Crystal Atkinson of Bedford, KY, Renay Blackwell, Martha and Kirby King, Judy and Stanley Thompson all of Dalton, GA, Linda and George Earnest of Varnell, GA, Doris and Lewis Hobbs of Taylorsville, GA; cousins, Derrick Atkinson, Dustan Atkinson, Monica and Chris Hix, Conly King, Wendy and Scott Collins, August Blackwell, Daphne and Wayne Cagle, Lakrista Atkinson, Ethan Albright, Jacob Albright, Christopher and Courtney Jones, Angie and Troy Barnes; and many special friends.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jefferson McCree "Jeff" Jones will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Byron Edens officiating. He will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Second visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Monday until the service hour. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made toward his final expenses.
