Mr. JE Ernest Griggs, age 59, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday March 14, 2019 at the local hospital. He was born February 15, 1960 in Dalton, GA a son of the late Grady Ernest Griggs and Jynell Overby Wilkins. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Judy Griggs Dial, Robbie Griggs.

He is survived by his son, Seth Griggs of Cleveland, TN; mother of his son, Cheryl White of Blue Ridge, GA; siblings, Grady and Kathy Griggs, Homer Griggs, Ricky Griggs, Charlotte Griggs Harden, Georgia Griggs, Sheila and Ed Clark, Wanda Griggs, Hank Griggs all of Dalton, GA, Linda O'Cain, Lisa Bowman of Dandridge, TN; brother-in-law, Daryl Blackwell of Cleveland, TN.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. JE Ernest Griggs will be held Sunday March 17, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey and Reverend Donald Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
