Mr. J.B. Thomas, age 83, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the local hospital. J.B. was born September 6, 1930 in Murray County a son of the late John and Myrtle Banks Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mae Baggett and brothers Gus Thomas, Earl Thomas and Pittman Thomas.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Nancy Thomas of Dalton, GA; brother Fain Thomas of Dalton,GAGranddaughter, Jennifer and Scott Wells of Dalton, GA, Great Grandchildren, Ashton & Ethan Wells, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. J.B. Thomas will be held Saturday October 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Wayne Coffield officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Friday and 12 pm Saturday until the funeral hour. Interment will follow the service at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
