Jay Hugh Vaught "Jaybird", age 71, of Fairmount, Georgia, formally of Orlando, FL departed this life Wednesday morning, August 21, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Rome, GA surrounded by his loving family. Jay was born May 11, 1942 in Goodwins Ferry, VA, a son of the late Roy and Virginia Meredith Vaught. He was also preceded in death by Brothers; James, Richard, Melvin, Larry, David Vaught as well as sisters Euna Johnson and twin sisters Betty Lou and Patty Sue Vaught.

He is survived by sons; Michael Vaught of Calhoun, and Jesse Adams of Adrian, Missouri. Daughter and son in law: Melissa and Eric Webb of Calhoun, GA. He is also survived by sisters; Janie Moss of Orlando, FL, Margaret Davis, Jeanne Davis, and Brenda Shaver all of Virginia. A brother Jackie Vaught of Lake Wales, Fla., grandchildren; Felicia and Cheyenne Cloud, Eric Webb Jr. and Dakota Cohen.

Services to celebrate the life of Jay Hugh Vaught will be held Saturday August 24 2013 at Ponders Fairmount Chapel at 2:00PM with Pastor Steve Skates officiating. Music will be provided by Betty Mathis and Allen Price. Jason Leatherwood, Rick Carlson, Nick Price, Allen Price, Howard Young, Chris Cloud, Dustin LaValle and Jonathan Holsomback will serve as pallbearers. He will be laid to rest at Gordon Memorial Gardens in Calhoun GA.

The Family will receive friends Friday at 5:00 to 9:00PM at Ponders Funeral Home in Fairmount, Georgia.
