Mrs. Jannie Willene Reed, age 82 of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Friday March 20, 2015 at the Quinton Memorial Health Care in Dalton, Georgia. Jannie was born November 23 1932 in Calhoun, Georgia, a daughter of the late Bartow and Mattie Pearl Jordan Hales. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 Years, Virgil Miller (Junior) Reed, Jr. and a son, Joey Randolph Reed, brother, Oscar D Hales, three sisters, Flonnie, Goldamae Sluder, Edna Lee Hales Defoor and brother-in-law, Herbert Lee Defoor.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and David Townsend of Fairmount, GA; son, Ricky Reed of Calhoun, Georgia; grandsons, Stephen Reed and Joseph Reed; great-grandchildren, Andrea Reed and Destiny Reed; nephews, Danny Defoor and Jeffrey Defoor; niece, Marcelle Hardin; several other relatives.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jannie Willene Reed will be held Thursday morning, April 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Resaca, Georgia, with George Cross officiating. The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel after 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
