Mr. James Shanklin Jr., age 72, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday evening, August 23, 2026, at his residence. He was born June 26, 1954 in Kentucky, a son of the late James Floyd Shanklin Sr. and Emms Kathleen Atwood Shanklin. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Linda Ann Elliott, Janice Faye Edwards, Jennifer Shanklin, nephew Keith Windom.

He is survived by his sister, Ray Windom of Dalton, GA; brother, Scott Shanklin of Kentucky; nieces and nephews, Tracy Elliott of Kingsland, GA, Leslie Parrish, Jamie Elliott of Dalton, GA, Randall Windom, Chad Windom of Chatsworth, GA; several great nieces and nephews.

At his request no services will be held at this time.
