Mr. James "Bobby" Robert Underwood Sr., age 69 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday October 5, 2018 at his residence. Bobby was born February 2, 1949 in Tuscaloosa, AL, the son of the late Mr. Connie Wallace Underwood and Ella Mae Long Underwood. Bobby was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Wayne McNeese; brother, Ronnie Underwood. Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sue Roberts Underwood, son, James Robert Underwood Jr., of Dalton, GA; daughters, Wendy (Daniel) Stewart of Spring Place, Vickie Sue McNeese of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Brenda Anderson of Lyerly, WA; grandchildren, Cody Stanley, Brandi Meeks, Stone Southerland, Trevor Southerland, Hagen Stewart, Easton Stewart, Riley Stewart, Cassidy Underwood, Brent Hartness and Brooke Hartness, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Bobby will be held Monday October 8, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Reverend Stone Southerland. Burial will follow the service at West Hill Cemetery with Trevor Southerland, Daniel Stewart, Cody Stanley, Ryan Stewart, Ferral Anderson and Bobby Chisolm serving as pallbearers. American Legion Post #112 of Dalton will perform military rites.

The family will receive friends Sunday October 7, 2018 at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m.
