Mr. James Thomas Rittenhouse, age 62 of Dalton, Ga., departed this life Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home. James was born September 20, 1955 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Carl Emerald and Annie Ruth Hughes Rittenhouse. He was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Mason Faw, brothers and sister-in-law, Saul Rittenhouse and David and Bobbie Rittenhouse. James was a truck driver and drove for Shaw Industries, Kennesaw Express and the last job was driving for Mohawk Industries.

James was a very humble, kind, caring man who always found the good in others.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Mantooth Rittenhouse of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Brandy Vick; daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Chris Rainey; grandchildren, Brittany and Justin Faw, Nicole Vick and Zeth Roberson, Lilly Marie Rainey, Samantha and Jason Roper, Shania Vick, Dalton Pope, and Austin Vick; great-grandchildren, Hunter Faw, Averee Hawkins, Maddyn Roberson and Matthew Roper; sisters, Wanda Rutherford, Deborah Rittenhouse and Dawn Reed; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Charlotte Rittenhouse; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Lynn Mantooth; uncle, Robert Rittenhouse; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Thomas Rittenhouse will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bruce Edwards officiating. He will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with John Rittenhouse, Zeth Roberson, Justin Faw, Matthew Rittenhouse, Grant Mantooth and Eddie Mantooth serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
