Mr. James Eddie Price age 85, of Dalton, Georgia, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Regency Park. James was born November 10, 1930 in Richard City, Tennessee, a son of the late Eddie and Bessie Price. . He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Eula Marie Price, two sons, Gary Johnson and Bobbie Gene Johnson, James was a member of the 11th Avenue Baptist Church. He lived most of his life in Whitfield County. James retired from E&B Carpets. He was an excellent care giver to his wife and her sister in their declining years. When he moved to Regency Park he brought great joy and happiness to his fellow residents through his gospel music and his personal garden. As his health declined his daughter and grandson Lyvonne and Jody Simms became his care providers as well as all the wonderful staff at Regency Park who the family wishes to give their heartfelt thanks too.

He is survived by daughters; Lyvonne Simms and Brenda Gravitt both of Dalton, GA, grandchildren; Jody Simms, Jeffery Gravitt and Pam Blair. James also had a great granddaughter Jocelyn Blair. He was also survived by a sister Mary Price of Dalton, GA and a brother and sister in law Clifford and Betty Price also of Dalton, GA.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Eddie Price will be held Friday August 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey and Reverend Robert Beavers officiating. Interment will follow in the Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
