Mr. James Chester Pickett age 64, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, December 6, 2021 at the local hospital.  James was born August 3, 1957 in Harriman, TN, the son of the late James and Donna Wilder Pickett Jr.  He was also preceded in death by his sister Debbie Bowman. James was a truck driver and drove for Shaw Industries and Engineer Flooring.

James is survived by his loving wife, Robbie Shipman Pickett, sons, Chris and Marie Pickett of Dalton, Georgia, Adam Pickett and Nichole Pickett of Calhoun, Georgia; daughters, Kristy and Robbie Townsend of Dalton, Georgia, Erica and Ricky Morgan of Dalton, Georgia, Jessica Pickett of Florida; brothers, David and Jackie Pickett of Dalton, Georgia, Steve and Billie Pickett of Ringgold, Georgia;  grandchildren, Tucker, Ty, Hope, T.J, Kayla, Tasha, Hailey, Stacey, Angel, Cheyann, Paige, Jamie, Tabatha, Terry and Sariah.

Service to celebrate the life of James Chester Pickett will be held Thursday December 9, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Brett Yaeger officiating. Burial will take place at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Richie Holland, Raymond Holland, Thomas Franks, Jeremy Ward, Paul Shipman and Robbie Townsend serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday December 8, 2021 at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
