Mr. James Howard Owens, age 88, of Dalton, GA, departed this life, Sunday October 23, 2016 at his home. James was born June 8, 1928 in Lanett, AL, the son of the late, J.C. Owens and Dolly Douglas Owens. James was also preceded by his brothers, Delano and Johnny Garner. James was a graduate of Auburn University, earning a degree in textile engineering. James was a salesperson by trade and enjoyed traveling throughout the country. James was a loving husband, an understanding father and a doting grandfather.

Mr. James Howard Owens is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Joyce Colquitt Owens; daughters, Linda and George Grier of Acworth, GA, Jennifer Snow of Dalton, GA; son, Michael and Dale Owens of Indian Trail, NC; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private memorial service.
