Mr. James "Jimmy" Erwin Norrell, age 84, of Ranger, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at AdventHealth Gordon. He was born December 4, 1939 in Rydal, Georgia, the son of the late Roy and Mildred Surratt Norrell. He was also preceded in death by his son Robie Norrell, brother Horace Norrell, sisters Jo Ann Collins, Mary Young, and Patsy Martin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Wilson Norrell of the residence; son Jason Norrell of Chickamauga, GA; sisters Sybil Jennings of Calhoun, GA, Debbie Jennings of White, GA; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Erwin Norrell will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Darrell Tidwell and Reverend Eric Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery with Chris Jennings, Bobby Jennings, Randy Collins, Jody Collins, Keith Wilson, Brian Norrell, and Bailey Wilson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
