James Joseph "Jay" Mathews, 68 of Calhoun passed away 10/17/2021 after a long illness.  He was preceded in death by a father, James H. Mathews, a mother Edna Sutherland Fox and a sister Rebecca Mathews Brown.  He is survived by a sister, Kirsten Fox of Plainville Ga and a niece, Kristina Brown Martin of Colorado Springs, Co.  In lieu of a service, the family would ask that anyone who knew Jay take a moment and remember the sweet, smart, and funny guy he always was.
