Mr. James Edward “Eddie” Hicks age 57, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday October 13, 2026 at Erlanger Hospital. He was born July 7, 1969 in Dalton, GA. He was also preceded in death by his mother Wanda Lucille Pettyjohn Hicks.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hicks of the residence; father, Bobby Hicks of Dalton, GA; daughters, Paige Hicks of Knoxville, TN, Kate and Millar Brooks of Roseville, MI, Mykayla Hicks of Dalton, GA, Kayli Hicks of Tunnel Hill, GA, Layla Hicks of Dalton, GA, Felicia Miller, Sean Miller of Chatsworth, GA, Jada Zentz of Ohio; son, Chance Preston of Tunnel Hill, GA; sisters, Melissa Grider of Rocky Face, GA, Jessica and Neal Foskey of Cohutta, GA; nieces, Jade and Kendall Rankhorn of Dalton, GA, Hannah Grider of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren, Kennedy DeBord, Raelynn DeBord, Blake Brooks, Fate Brooks, Carson Miller, Neylan Brooks, Jacob Baker, Lily Baker, Kenleigh Townsend, Brookelynn Miles, Payton Mead; several other family and friends.

Memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Edward “Eddie” Hicks will be held Sunday October 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Andrew Corbin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
