Mr. James Lowell Hayes, age 97, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born February 27, 1924 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late John Langford and Savannah Ruth Prater Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Hunsucker Hayes, stepson, Roger Maril Capehart, daughter Sandra Annette Ballew Parks, brothers, Ernest Hayes, Claude Hayes, Frank Hayes, Harlan Hayes, sisters, Frances Hayes Edwards, Elizabeth Hayes Mahan.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis James Alan  and Yedi Hayes of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Hayes and Charles Windom, Drenda Elaine Hayes Kirby of Dalton, GA, Wanda Jean Ballew McDonald of Tunnel Hill, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Lowell Hayes will be held Wednesday June 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
