Mr. James Edward "Eddie" Gowan, age 72, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Advent Health Murray. He was born July 25, 1952 in Ringgold, Georgia, a son of the late James Harrison and Betty Jo Bryant Gowan.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Skylar Jacquelyn Gowan of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jodi Matthews of Crandall, GA, Craig and Kim Gowan of Chickamauga, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Shelia Gowan, Ronnie and Aleta Gowan of Chattanooga, TN; eight grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Edward "Eddie:" Gowan will be held Sunday March 2, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
