Mr. James Lee Furr, age 63, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, January 28, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 10, 1957 in Mooresville, NC a son of the late Ray Morrison and Ruth Naomi Pruitt Furr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Furr, sister, Latissua Brookshire, The love of his life, Jane Furr.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, George Anthony and Sonya Brewer of Dalton, GA, James Allen Furr of Ringgold, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Renee Mathis and Chad Dixon of Dalton, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Loretta Smith, Shirley Sharp, Patsy Thornton, Ellen and Scotty Morrison; grandchildren, Debra Jane and David Barmore, Robert Lee Nichols, Nathan and Rose Brewer, Jacob Nichols, Taylor Nichols and Isabella Young, Brittney Brewer and Jeffery Tate, George Brewer; great grandchildren, Zoey, Melody and Carter Barmore, Lily Gregory, Ely Brents, Jacelynn Sexton, Savannah Brewer; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Lee Furr will be held Sunday January 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Danny Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery with Chad Dixon, George Anthony Brewer, David Barmore, Nathan Brewer, Jacob Nichols and Little George Brewer serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
