Mr. James Charles Doby , age 57, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life, Monday Morning September 6, 2021 at AdventHealth Gordon, Calhoun, Georgia.  Charles was born March 25, 1964 in Marietta, Georgia.  Charles worked several years at Lacy Mills and was a brick mason by trade.  Charles was a kind, loyal, loving friend to all.  He cared more for others than he did himself.  The best son and brother that anyone could ask for.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Holbert Doby and his mother, Dorothy Carder Youman.

He is survived by his sisters, Kathy Mutter and Sharnee Collis both of Fairmount, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Ruthie Partain of San Antonio, TX, and Wayne Youman of Canton, GA; nieces and nephews, James Henry Hufstetler, George Hufstetler, Danny "Shorty" Collis, Jr., Allissa Partain, Bradley Partain, Damien Youman, Brandon Mutter, Michael Mutter, Luke Mutter and Summer Mutter; special friend, Gary Downer.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Charles Doby will be held Thursday morning, September 9, 2021 at 11:00 o'clock a.m. at Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Brother Denny Smith officiating.  He will be laid to rest beside his mother at the Johnson Cemetery with his nephews honored to serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel, (2566 Hwy. 411 Fairmount, GA, 30739) from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
