Mr. James "Jimmy" Samuel Cox, age 68 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Thursday, October 6, 2023, at his home. He was born June 8, 1955 in Dayton, TN, a son of the late Samuel Elbert and Mary Patton Cox. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Rebecca Rawson, Charlotte Sharpe. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Jean Cox of Dalton, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol and Mitchell Davis of Dayton, TN, Kathy Bredeson, Pat Holland both of Dalton, GA; nieces, nephews, great nieces and cousins.

Graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Samuel Cox will be held Monday October 9, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens with Reverend Bobby Green officiating. Steve Holland, Greg Holland, Kenny Holland, Bobby Cox, Daniel Harris and Ryan Harris will serve as pallbearers.
