Mr. James Everette "Jimmy" or "Bubba" Cochran Jr., age 54, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday evening, December 1, 2024, at AdventHealth Redmond Hospital in Rome, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 18, 1970, in Cleveland, Tennessee, Jimmy was the eldest child of the late Jessie Mae Hyde Cochran and James Everette Cochran Sr. He was a graduate of Murray County High School, Class of 1990, and a former employee of Engineered Floors.

Jimmy was known for his deep love of the outdoors, especially fishing at Praters Mill. Whether exploring nature or casting a line, the peace of the outdoors brought him joy and tranquility. With a soft heart and a giving spirit, he was always ready to help others in need. Above all, Jimmy cherished his family, especially his niece and nephew, Brently and Lakelynn Utech, whom he lovingly thought of as his grandchildren.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Lawanda Cochran; his beloved daughter, Makayla Cochran; his cherished niece and nephew, Brently and Lakelynn Utech; his siblings, Jeffery Cochran, Debbie Stephens (Brent), and Amanda Cochran Keener; his aunts and uncles, Vivian and J.C. Cheatham, Shirley Mosier, and Elsie Jean Reece; nephews and nieces, Dwight Stephens, Brittany and Andrew Utech, Robert and Carla Huskey and numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Services celebrating Jimmy's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Joe Jones, Reverend Allen Bunch, and Reverend Gladden Coe officiating. He will be laid to rest at Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalton, Georgia. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Tommy Conner, Jeffery Fowler, Robert Retail, Jordon Kerr, Keith "Gator" Joyner, and Raul Garcia.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and again on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour. J

Jimmy's love for the outdoors, fishing, and his family will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
