Obituary

Mr. James Randall Bramblett, age 62, of Okeechobee, Florida, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, March 9, 2026.

Randall was born July 19, 1963, in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late James Douglas and Rosia Lavell Defoor Bramblett. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Joyce Ann Bramblett; his grandparents, Clifford Otis and Emily Marie Joyce Defoor; and Floyd Samuel and Ruth Elizabeth Posey Bramblett.

Randall was known as a quiet and private man who kept mostly to himself throughout his life. Though he did not maintain close contact with family, he was remembered as a good-hearted person who lived life on his own terms. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who took great pride in his work, never missing a day and always doing his job with consistency and integrity. Randall earned the respect of his coworkers through his strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to mind his own business while getting the job done.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Chrissy and Allen Knight of Dalton, GA; aunts and uncles, Evelene Shugart and Wilma Bramblett, both of Resaca, GA, Billy Defoor and Wendell and Kathy Defoor, all of Ellijay, GA; niece and nephews, Jennifer Bramblett of Dalton, GA, Josh Stone and Cody Stone, both of Resaca, GA; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Randall Bramblett will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Dr. Danny Cochran officiating. He will be laid to rest with his parents and family at Mt. Herman (Ball Ground) Baptist Church Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia, with Darrin Gilbert, James Bramblett, Terry Collins, Samuel Bramblett, Cody Stone, and Josh Stone honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Ponders Melrose Chapel for funeral expenses.
