Mr. James Douglas Beach, age 84, of Lafayette, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. James was born June 2, 1929 in Harlan County, KY a son to the late Franklin and Berlena Duncan Beach.

James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

James is survived by his long time companion Mary Robinson. Sons and daughters in law; Danny and Sherry Beach of Lake City, TN, Charles and Melinda Beach of Andersonville, TN, David and Joy Beach of Sinton, TX, and a daughter Julia Beach of Lake City, TN. He is also survived by sisters and brother in law; Imogene and George Elliot of Lake City, TN and Naomi Duff of Detroit, MI. He has four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A visitation service to celebrate the life of James Douglas Beach will held Friday May 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Ponders Funeral Home.
