Mr. James Michael "Mike" Freeman, age 63 of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away March 20, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born April 7, 1950 in Fairmount, Georgia, a son of the late Willis James and Bernice Chambers Freeman. He was also preceded in death by his son Jeffery Freeman, brothers-in-law, Jack McBride and Lowell Tarpley, nephew, Jerry Tarpley. Mike was the owner of Freeman Motor Express.

He is survived by his companion, Ellen Winters of the residence; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Brenda Freeman of Dalton, GA; sisters, Martha Tarpley of Crandall, GA, Jimmie McBride of Atlanta, GA; step children, Amanda Anderson and Leonard Boudreaux of Chatsworth, GA, Josh and Crystal Anderson of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Hannah Lee, Jaylen Grant; special nieces, Lisa Hale, Iris McBride, Melissa Poe, great niece, China Poe.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Michael "Mike" Freeman will be held Monday March 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Jeff Caylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday.
