Mr. James Gordon "Jimmy" Millsaps, age 67, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday evening, January 25, 2014 at the Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jimmy was born July 16, 1946 in Vonore, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his only son, Danny Millsaps, his father, John Millsaps and a brother, Donny Millsaps. He was retired from Turbo Tire where he worked many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Marilyn Sue Hobbs Millsaps of the home; mother, Bernice Baker Millsaps of Madisonville, TN; daughter, Polly Anderson of Canada; grandchildren, Laurel and Kenneth Griggs, Derick and Gary Griffin; brothers, William and Betty Millsaps of Athens, TN, Ted Millsaps of Vonore, TN; sisters, Debbie and Gary Southerland of Douglasville, GA, Climer and Rayburn Brackett of Madisonville, TN, Helen Bright Tuck and Joe Tuck of Woodard, OK, Nola Mae and Ronnie Carmley of Nashville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Gordon "Jimmy" Millsaps will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend J.R. Holcomb officiating. He will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery with Kenneth Griggs, Chris Weaver, Michael Sanford, Jordon Hewell, Sean Belcher, Randy Bright, and Gary Southerland serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday.
