Mr. James Aubrey "Jimmy" Hatfield age 61, of Dalton, GA departed this life, Sunday May 28, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was born January 5, 1956 in Huntsville, Tennessee, a son of the late Tommy and Bernetta Bowling Hatfield. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jeffrey and Ronnie Hatfield, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Bertha Long and a brother-in-law, Mike Townsend.

Jimmy was formerly employed at Industrial Bearing and was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. Jimmy loved woodworking and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Nelda Long Hatfield of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Timothy Hulsey; grandson, Ethan Hulsey; special nieces, Danyell and Charles Boyd; great-niece, Heather Boyd all of Dalton, GA; cousin, Chester Bullock of Ranger, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Arvil and Pat Hatfield of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Kathy Ray of Sugar Valley, GA, Karen and Mark Toles of Armuchee, GA; sisters-in-law, Brenda and Ed Guinn of Cleveland, TN, Dianne and Tom Ballew of Ellijay, GA; uncle, Gene and Brenda Bowling of Huntsville, TN; aunt, Geneva Wright of Muncie, IN; several other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James. A. "Jimmy" Hatfield will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Dwanie Shadix and Dr. Randy Postell officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Ballew Memorial Family Cemetery Craigtown Rd. in Ellijay, Georgia, with Chuck Guinn, Eddie Guinn, Tom Ballew, Jason Lowery, Charlie Boyd and Jeremy Bates serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
