Mr. James C. "Jim" Parrish, age 73 of Calhoun, GA, departed this life, Wednesday August 5, 2015 at his home. Jim was born April 23, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL. Jim was married to the late Malvia Arlene Parrish, whom he loved and cherished for 48 years; she took his heart when she went and now they walk together again. He was also preceded in death by his father and step-mother, James Henry and Jo L. Parrish and his mother and step-father Ruth Bender Tanner and her husband Ray Tanner.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy and was very proud of the service he gave to his country.

"Jim" Parrish is survived by his son, Carey Parrish of Dalton, GA.; daughter, Deanna and Brian Hemminger of Cleveland, TN.; brothers, Tim Tanner of Gray, GA and Rick Tanner of Macon, GA; sisters, Shirley and Bruce Parker of Tampa, Fl., Judy Gordy of Gray, GA, Sheila and Dan Martin of Thomson, GA and Cynthia and Rick Busby of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Bayleigh Michael, Megan, Madison and Makenzie Hemminger.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel, Saturday August 8, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

A crypt side service will be held Saturday August 8, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery at The Resurrection Mausoleum with American Legion Post 105 performing the military graveside rites.
