Mr. Jacob Asburry Carter Sr., age 63, of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life, Thursday October 26, 2017 at the Murray Medical Center. Jacob was born January 12, 1955 in Copper Hill, TN, the son of the late Johnny and Nora Elliott Carter. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Will, and James "Skinny" Carter.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Amanda Carter; grandchildren, Emmaleigh Carter. Rhyan Carter, Bella Carter all of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, Todd Carter of Dalton, GA, Delmus Carter of Cleveland, TN; sisters, Annie Fortner, Norma Jean Watts of Dalton, GA, Sue Cook of Blairsville, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jacob Asburry Carter Sr. will be held Monday October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday October 29, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
