Mr. Jack Lockaby, age 78, of Rydal, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Jack was born April 23, 1945 in Pinelog, son of the late Hoke and Viola Young Lockaby. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. His brave actions earned him the Purple Heart Medal and Combat Citation for Bravery. Jack was an avid fisherman and had a home in Steinhatchee, Fl where he had a community of close friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Joe Lockaby and Raymond Lockaby, sister Shirley Robinson, and nephews Terry, Ricky, and Scott Waits.

He is survived by his children, Jackson Lockaby (Raya), Angela Hight (Clint), and Anna Ginnity (Jeremy); his grandchildren Juliana O'Neal (Brady), Jax Lockaby, Jazlyn Lockaby, Luke Hight, and Finley Ginnity; great granddaughter Adeline O'Neal and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Fairmount Community Center at 11921 Fairmount Hwy SE Fairmount, GA on Thursday June 29th from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to DAV.org, an organization Jack felt strongly about.
