Mr. Jack Olin Hefner, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the local hospital. Jack was born January 9, 1934 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Tom and Mary Lou Nesbit Hefner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Willie Lucille Cavender Hefner, brothers, Byron and Zet Hefner.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Lois Hefner Itson of McDonough, GA, Patsy Asher of Columbus, GA, Minnie Gorham of Dalton, GA, Brenda and JW Miller of Calhoun, GA, Diane and Leonard Caylor of Rocky Face, GA, Daisy Bagby of Cohutta, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thad and Linda Hefner, Leroy an Marie Hefner, Bob and Diane Hefner of Cohutta, GA, Roy and Doris Hefner Blairsville, GA, Tommy and Angela Hefner of Dalton, GA; special friends, Gerald Parks, Joann and Danny Thomason, Sam and Jane Densmore, Teresa Starks; nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jack Olin Hefner will be held Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Gerald Parks and Gary Jarrett officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. American Legion Post 112 will be in charge of Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
