Mr. Jack William Dodson, age 86 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday September 9, 2026 at the Gordon Heath and Rehab. He was born October 4, 1939 in Dalton, Georgia a son of the late Lon and Bonnie Dodson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Eva Jeanette Reno, brothers LV Dodson, Johnny Dodson, David Dodson, sister Shirley Puckett, son-in-law Doug Dillard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Melba Ruth Cochran Dodson of the residence; son, Tommy William Dodson of Dalton, GA; daughter and sons-in-law, Renita Lynn Dillard of Chatsworth, GA, Larry Reno of Calhoun, GA; brother, Jimmy Dodson of Dalton, GA; sisters, Kay Dodson Wilson of Chatsworth, GA, Edith Haynes of Dalton, GA, Jane Sheldrick of Chatsworth, GA; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jack William Dodson will be held Saturday September 12, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Billy Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the Cove Cemetery with Douglas Dillard, Jackie Dodson, Tommy Dodson, Patrick Dodson and Mark Hampton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
