Mrs. Ireta Faye Henson Vaker, age 57 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Monday September 11, 2017 at her home. She was born August 13, 1960 in Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Charlie Wayne Henson, parents Oscar and Dorothy Smith, father and mothers-in-law, Ralph and Elizabeth Henson and Danny Watts.

She is survived by her five children, Serina and David Perry, Tabatha and Kenneth Knipp, Veronica and Brian Yerty, Charlie Henson, Litha and Isaiah Machoka; fourteen grandchildren, Jamie Cotton Morgan, Charley Perry, Charles "C.L." Quarles, Matthew Quarles, Addison Quarles, Cheyanne Quarles, Starr Hackney, Michael "Bubba" Hackney, Justin Yerty, Krystal Yerty, Madison Henson, Kayla Henson, Elizabeth Wheeler-Henson, J.R. Machoka; fiance, Daniel Scoggins; dear friend (sister), Anita Wooden; sisters, Tammy Gibson, Betty Jo Strickland; brother, Oscar Smith II; special friends, Megan Fox and kids, Kyrie Bell and kids, Kayla Fauscett, several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Wanda Hensley, Lisa Shipman.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ireta Faye Henson Vaker will be held Friday September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Danny Thomason and Reverend David Gibson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Randy Deal officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to help with expenses.
