Mr. Ira Owen Owenby, age 52 of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Monday July 28, 2014 at the local hospital. Owen was born April 21, 1962 in Blairsville, GA, a son of the late Vaughan and Mavis Brackett Owenby.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Owenby of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Enrique Rosas of Dalton, GA, Brandy and Edgar Reyes of Calhoun, GA, Brittany Owenby of Dalton, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Rita Parham of Ranger, GA, Horace Owenby of Ringgold, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Colleen Parham of Blairsville, GA, Alacia and Timmy Whitfield of Ranger, GA, Vonda and Dwayne Bledsoe of Dalton, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Ruby Best of Resaca, GA; special friends, Herman and Jeannie Roark of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Esperanza, Kevin, Kris, Edwin, Kabria; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ira Owen Owenby will be held Thursday July 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will follow in the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Dallas Duval, Mike Best, Timmy Wells, TJ Wells, Andy Morgan, Edgar Reyes, and Enrique Rosas serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home for the Owenby family.
