Mrs. Imogene M. Green, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday evening, April 27, 2014 at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family. Imogene was born October 1, 1934 in Winfield, Alabama, a daughter of the late, Willie Edward and Icey Pender Mayfield. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Sellers.

She worked many years at Cabin Craft and was retired from Aladdin Mills. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

She is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-three years, Roy Green of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Theresa Green of Chatsworth, GA; sister-in-law, Reba Green of Chatsworth, GA; granddaughter and her husband, Stephanie and Josh Ray; great-granddaughter, Savannah Ray all of Cartersville, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Imogene M. Green will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Donald Cantrell and her nephew, Raymond Caylor officiating. She will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery with Ken McRay, Richard Green, Mike Smith, Earl Cowart, Randall Brown and Raymond Caylor serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
