Mr. Hugh Dorsey Long, age 71, of Fairmount, Georgia, (Bartow County, GA) departed this life Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his home. He was born January 22, 1950 in a son of the late Reed and Laura Frances Wheeler Long. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bobby Carney. He was a member of the Fairmount Morning Star Lodge 349 for over 50 years.

He is survived by his by his brother, David Long of Fairmount, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie Carney of Adairsville, GA, Patsy and Danny Coggins, Jane and Lester Harrison of Calhoun, GA, Brenda and Mike Byars of Acworth, GA, Martha and Paul Rollins of Fairmount, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hugh Dorsey Long will be held Sunday January 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Forrest Leechman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Bartow County with Fairmount Morning Star Losge 349 conducting graveside rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
