Mr. Hubert Wallace Mitchell, Jr., age 69, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, February 5, 2019 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Mitchell was born on May 9, 1949 in Albertville, Alabama, a son of the late Hubert Wallace Mitchell Sr. and Doris Ann Kittle Mitchell.  Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by a child, Nassie Mitchell; a sister, Peggy Faye Mitchell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era.  He had also been employed with Tommy Roberts Trucking in Armuchee, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Mitchell of Resaca, GA; step-son, Michael Hopper; children, Regina McKinney, Michelle Mitchell, Hubert McKinney, Chrissey Mitchell, Michael McKinney, Carla Windsor, Elvis Smalley, Jason Mitchell, Jennifer Mitchell; step-daughter, Amanda Fain; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Hubert Wallace Mitchell Jr. will be held on March 18, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Brother Clyde McEntyre officiating.

Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with Military Honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard.

The Mitchell family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M until the service hour at Ponders Calhoun Chapel on Monday, March 18, 2019.
