Mr. Howard Joshua Hopper Jr, age 68 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday evening, April 11, 2016 at the Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 11, 1947 in Cartersville, GA, a son to the late Howard and Pauline Mundy Hopper Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother Eugene Hopper, and sisters; Dorothy Hopper and Christine Perian.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law; Jimmy and Lisa Hopper of Dalton, daughter and son in law; Michelle and Billy Ray of Ringgold, GA, as well as the mother of his children and still best friends, Francine Hopper Cook. Howard has two grandsons; Christian Hopper and Mathew Ray. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Bea Hopper of Gainesville, GA, brother in law; Ray Perian of Dalton, GA, JW and Brenda Hopper of Chatsworth, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and James Justice of Calhoun, GA, Wanda and Bobby Noland of Dalton, GA, Kathy and Ricky Robinson of Cedartown, GA, Mary Lynn and Earnest Harris of Dalton, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Howard Hopper Jr. will be held Friday April 15, 2016 at 3:00PM at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral home with Major Gerald Street officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Hopper Family Cemetery in Ranger, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.
