Mr. Herman Wayne Stanley, age 78, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Sunday January 11, 2015 at the local hospital. Herman was born January 23, 1936 in Gilmer County, Georgia, a son of the late Norman S. and Ruby Langley Stanley. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gary Sisson, mother-in-law, Estlene Sisson, father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, George and Jessie Sisson. Herman proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. Herman was a supervisor for many years in the tufting department at World Carpet. He was a F & AM Mason and a member of Dalton Masonic Lodge #105. He was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church and attended Lakeshore Park Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Betty Sisson Stanley of the residence; daughter, Rhonda Faye Stanley; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Suzanna Stanley; grandchildren, Rhett Stanley and Caroline Stanley all of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Betty Stanley Pippin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Brenda Sisson, Carolyn and Danny Patterson, Charles and Kathlene Sisson, Bobby and Charlene Sisson, Johnny and Frankie Sisson; aunt, Sue Goss all of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Herman Wayne Stanley will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Brother Ross Jordan, Reverend Travis Martin and Reverend Dennis Chasteen officiating. He will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Robbie Sisson, Jonathan Sisson, Greg Sisson, Allan Pippin, Shaw Scott and Donnie Tate serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 7:00 p.m. Monday, all day Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
