Mr. Herman Charlie Manning, age 87, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life on Saturday December 14, 2013 at his residence. Herman was born November 9, 1926 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Kirby Manning Sr. and Grace Martin Manning. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elva Kathleen Manning, son, Joe Manning, brothers, William Kirby Manning Jr., Johnson Manning, Edward Manning, sisters, Jeanette Dixon, Ruth Lee Monger, Cleo Puryear, Syliva Manning.

He is survived by his sister, Maxine Headrick of Dalton, GA, Vivian Phillips of Woodstock, GA, Blanch Stanley of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Eric Manning of Dalton, GA, Dustin Manning of Chattanooga, TN; three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Herman Charlie Manning will be held Monday December 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. He will be laid to rest beside his loving wife at the Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday.
