Mr. Henry "Achie" Mitchell Jr., age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday evening, March 30, 2015 at the local hospital. Achie was born March 12, 1929 in Dalton, GA a son of the Henry Mitchell Sr. and Paralee Ray Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Stevie, Marshall and Ray Mitchell, sister, Virginia Nations. He was a member of the McFarland Hills Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty six years, Brownie Mitchell of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sandra Mitchell, Lexie Mitchell and Teresa; grandchildren, Tera and Bobby Gee, Nikki and Larry Haddaway; great grandchildren, Austin, Robbie, Caleb, Riley and Alexis; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Virgie and Grady Mullinax, Sammy Seay; special nieces, Regina Johnston, Cassie Graeff, Tosha Bradford; great nephews, Bryce Johnston, Nigel Mullinax all of Dalton, GA.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Henry "Achie" Mitchell Jr. will be held Thursday April 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charles Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Swamp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
