IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry Thurman
Lee Jr.
June 5, 1965 – June 10, 2025
Mr. Henry Thurman Lee, Jr., age 60, of Chatsworth, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at his beloved family's "Home Place," surrounded by those who loved him most.
Henry was born on June 5, 1965, in LaFayette, Georgia, and spent his entire life in the rolling hills and quiet beauty of North Georgia—a place he cherished deeply and never wished to leave. A man who lived simply and loved fiercely, Henry had a special bond with his family and a heartfelt connection to animals, especially his faithful companion, a little nineteen-year-old Reindeer Chihuahua named Scooter, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his father, Henry Thurman Lee, Sr.; mother and stepfather, Peggy and Robert Peters; sister and brother-in-law, Myrtice Nadeen and Ronnie Young; and mother-in-law, Pat Sheppard.
Henry is survived by his devoted wife of twenty-five years, Michelle Sheppard Lee of the residence; two special nephews who shared his birthday and held a special place in his heart, Jason Pitts and Drew Peters; sisters, Etta Bowe and Amanda Peters; brothers and sisters-in-law, Adam and Teresa Peters, Andy and Donna Peters, Eric and Janet Peters, and Aaron Peters; beloved aunts, Lila Sutter and Kathryn Fouts; father-in-law, Carl Sheppard; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carla and Scott Capehart, Shane and Nicole Sheppard; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss his warm presence, kind heart, and quiet strength.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Henry Thurman Lee, Jr. will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Springs of Life Church (252 GA-225, Chatsworth, GA 30705) at 7:00 p.m., with Reverend Shawn Pinette and Reverend Keith Grizzle officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 5:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Arrangements by Ponders Melrose Chapel, 138 Melrose Drive, Dalton, GA 30721.
