Mrs. Helen Helton, age 74 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Tuesday June 6, 2017 at her residence. Helen was born December 29, 1942 in Ringgold, GA, a daughter of the late Albert Glenn May Sr. and Edna Cummings May. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Helton, son, Bradley Lamar Brookshire, daughter, Sharon Beard, brother, Albert "Glenn" May Jr.

Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Johnnie Helton of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Wheat of Calhoun, GA, Lisa Brookshire and Mike Officer of Tunnel Hill, GA, Missy and Jimmy May of Cohutta, GA, Angie Helton of Rome, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Phillip Bridges of Tunnel Hill, GA; aunts and uncles, Prima and Billy Joe Cochran of Dalton, GA, Mary Ruth and Bill Fowler of Ringgold, GA; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Helen Helton will be held Friday June 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Billy Joe Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Daniel Wheat, Keith Adkins, Justin Officer, Charlie Johnson, and Shane Cochran serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
