Mrs. Helen Ruth Porter Edwards, age 92, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Chatsworth Health Care. She was born August 11, 1931 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Luther Porter Sr. and Faye "Gertie" Louise Maples Romines Porter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Edwards, sons, Robert Edwards Jr., Doug Edwards, Curtis Edwards, daughter, Deborah Locke Price, sisters. Lillian Clare Edwards, Roselee Porter, Elizabeth Smith, Bertha Hayes, Stella Sochoki, Kathy Hicks, brothers, Charles Porter, James Porter, William "Bill" Porter Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Joel  and Sandra Edwards of Chatsworth, GA, Jeff and Terry Edwards of Ringgold, GA; sister, Louise Porter Davis of Chatsworth, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Evelyn Porter of Dalton, GA; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Helen Ruth Porter Edwards will be held Thursday November 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Kevin Tackett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
