Mrs. Helen Juanita Parker Brown, 70, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, September 21, 2018 at Gordon Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Parker was born on May 18, 1948 in Rome, Georgia.  She was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Irene E. Barnes Parker.  Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Brown; brothers, Arvil Parker, Tony Parker, Olen Parker, and Franklin Parker; sisters, Joyce Ellise and Ellen Parker.

Along with her companion of over 20 years, James Blake, she attended Agape Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia.  Mrs. Brown was nothing but an ol' country girl at heart, and loved nothing more than her family.

She is survived by her companion of over 20 years, James Blake; daughter, Keisha Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Belinda Heath, Billy and Candi Brown all of Calhoun; brothers and sisters-in-law,  Charles C. Parker and Misty Wooten of Plainville, Georgia, and Howard and Sarah Parker of Rome, Georgia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends also survive.

The service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Helen Brown will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. from the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with former Gordon Hospital Chaplain David Smith officiating.  Mrs. Brown will be laid to rest at the Crane Eater Community Cemetery.

Billy Brown, Scott Parker, Charles Parker, Logan Talley, Travis Neitermayer, Zach Jordan and Tommy Heath will all be honored to serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with Mrs. Brown's family on Tuesday, September 25, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home.
