Mr. Harry Thomas Byers, age 82, of Resaca, Georgia, departed this life Monday, October 6, 2014 at the local hospital. He was born July 9, 1932 in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Norman Frances and Lela Mae Batey Byers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean Porter Byers, sister Mary Edith Manfull. Mr. Byers proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and James Beaver of Resaca, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Jason Byers of Atlanta, GA, Richard Byers, David and Wanda Byers, Jerry Byers all of Dalton, GA; brothers, Edward Byers of Charlotte, NC, Richard Byers of Dalton, GA, Ralph Byers of Florida; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Harry Thomas Byers will be held Friday October 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Jim Herman officiating. The family will receive friends at the American Legion Post 112 in Dalton from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday October 16, 2014.
