Mr. Harold Dean White, age 80, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Thursday evening, June 19, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Harold was born January 18, 1934 in Chattooga County, Georgia, a son of the late Joseph Wesley and Annie Lee Byers White. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Bethelean Meadows White and sisters, Martha Edwards and Patty Harris Stoker. Harold was a truck driver for over forty plus years and retired from the Whitfield County School System where he drove a school bus. He was a member of the Valley Brook Church of God. Harold loved to fish and loved flee markets.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Pruitt White of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Jefferson and Kelly White; daughter, Linda Quarles; grandchildren, Cynthia Nicole White, Cory and Laura Quarles, Brittany and Hugo Moreno; great-grandchildren, Bethany Quarles and Emily Moreno all of Dalton, GA; sisters, Nancy Watkins and Ann Stoker; brother, Charles White all of Summerville, GA; step-children, Amanda and Mike Graves of Woodstock, GA, Kelly and Betty Pruitt of Nederland, TX; step-great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Brandon, Bailey, Brody and Boston; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Harold Dean White will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Junior Clayton and Reverend Dewayne Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his first wife at Murray Memorial Gardens with Dale White, Brandon Gurley, Mike Graves, Kelly Pruitt, Hugo Moreno, Mark Stoker, Cory Quarles and Phil Gurley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
