Mr. Guadalupe Ramos Martinez, age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Guadalupe was born on October 29, 1949, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, a son of the late Jose Arcadio Ramos and Maria Carmen Herrera.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Doroteo Ramos and Juan Ramos Martinez; and his sisters, Onesima Ramos Rodriguez and Gregoria Ramos Berlanga. He was a long-time resident of Brownville Texas, where his beloved family and many cherished friends continue to reside.
Guadalupe was a dedicated employee of Mohawk Industries, where he later retired. He cherished time spent with his family and enjoyed flea marketing, always appreciating the simple joys of life. His greatest happiness came from being with his grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his heart.
He is survived by his best friend and the love of his life of 49 years, Alicia Melendez Ramos; his son, Lamberto Ramos of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Carmen Sosa and Juan Sosa, Inez Ramos – Gomez and Guillermo Gomez, Claudia Nava and Gustavo Nava, and Guadalupe "Idalia" Triana and Juve Triana, all of Dalton, GA; and his brother, Juan Ramos Martinez of Matamoros, Mexico. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Juan Sosa, Arely Sosa and her spouse Israel "Junior" Nunez, Ayleen Sosa, Jaime Sosa, Gyan Gomez, Gianna Gomez, Leila Triana, Miah Triana, Maddy Nava, and Mila Nava, all of Dalton, GA; Great grandchild Sebastian Nunez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Arturo Merriman officiating. He will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with Juan Sosa, Juan Manuel Sosa, Jaime Sosa, Juventino Triana, Lamberto Ramos, Gyan Gomez, Gustavo Nava, Junior Nunez and Guillermo Gomez all honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and again after 10:30 a.m. Monday until the service hour. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening.
