Gregory Bryan Stamey, 55, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday morning, February 10, 2018 at the Gordon Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Greg was born on August 2, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia, a son of Mary Ellon Stamey and Robert "Bob" Joe Stamey.

He was a 1980 graduate of Calhoun High School, an avid fisherman, and absolutely loved the outdoors. Greg was especially fond of any animal, and loved and cared for many.

Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Bryan and Grace Pass Stamey who were of Calhoun area, and Messer William and Dola Crane Sheffield who were of the Dawsonville community.

Greg is survived by his only child, his son, Max Bryan Stamey; Greg's girlfriend of many years, Abigail Partin; his mother, Mary Ellon Stamey; his father and step-mother, Bob and Charlcie Stamey; brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Delorise Stamey; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Reverend Brent Davis; nieces, Taya and Cana Davis; a step-sister, Kim and her husband James Clark; step-brother, Kelly and his wife Shonda Seabolt; many more aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Greg Stamey will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. from the Heritage Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia with his brother-in-law Reverend Brent Davis officiating.

Greg's family will receive friends at the Heritage Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. until the service hour.

Honoring Greg's wishes he will be cremated.
