Mr. Grady Nathaniel Townsend, 79, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1938 in Ellijay, Georgia, a son of the late Palmer Nathaniel and Maude Marie Kincaid Townsend. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Townsend, son, John Timothy Townsend, sister, Arzie Agnes Casson.
He is survived by his children, Ingrid Irene Cole of Chatsworth, GA, Lena Burton Beck and her husband Michael of Dalton, GA, Ronald Nathaniel Townsend of Chatsworth, GA, Randall Clayton Townsend of Dalton, GA, James Daron Townsend of Dalton, GA; brother, Joe Townsend of TN; sister, Darlene Fraire of Crandall; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Grady Nathaniel Townsend will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Reverend William Taylor officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
