IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenda Annett
Long
November 16, 1948 – April 11, 2025
In Loving Memory of Glenda Annette "Bowa" Long
"Well done, good and faithful servant…" Matthew 25:23
Mrs. Glenda Annette Long, affectionately known as Bowa to those who loved her most, was carried home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 1:30 pm, surrounded by the family she loved more than all but Jesus. She was 76 years old.
Born November 16, 1948, in Dalton, Georgia, Glenda was the daughter of the late Charles Arrington, Jr. and Virginia Louise Arrington. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Don Morgan.
Glenda's life was a living testimony to the love of Jesus. A faithful servant of the Lord, she spent her days loving deeply, giving generously, and lifting up the brokenhearted. She had a special heart for the less fortunate and lived out her faith with quiet humility and unwavering devotion. To know her was to see Christ's love in action.
For fifty-six years, she was the beloved wife of Charles Perry Long. Together, they built a family rooted in faith, love and grace. She is survived by daughter, Dedra Brown, and husband Barry; daughter, Dana Bragg, and husband David; sister, Rosanna Pieri, and husband Paul; her cherished grandchildren, Drew Bragg, and wife Samantha; Katie Brown (Mike), and Spencer Bragg and wife Lauren; nieces and nephews, Chrissie Morgan, Jenny Parks, Ashley Cloer, Meg Duca, Mary Beth Rand, Anna Doyle, and several great nieces and great nephews. Glenda's legacy continues through her precious great-grandchildren: McKinley cooper, Mia Cooper, Charlie Bragg, Grayson Bragg, Ellie Bragg, Adeline Bragg, and Isaiah Bragg; aunts, Edna "Sis" Williams and Sally Lybrand.
She is also lovingly remembered by the countless children and families who passed through her home and her heart during her many years running a Christ-centered childcare program. Bowa was a nurturing, steady presence, whose faith-filled guidance left a lasting impact on generations.
Glenda was the spiritual heart of her family-a prayer warrior, a source of Godly wisdom, and a woman of deep compassion. Her gentle spirit and kind heart will never be forgotten, and the seeds of faith she planted will continue to grow for generations to come.
Her family finds peace in eternal promise of Christ:
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
-John 11:25-26 (NKJV)
She kept the faith through times of joy, as well as times of darkness, praising Him through every storm. She finished her race the same way she lived her life-peacefully. Today, she is in the presence of our Creator, worshipping Him for eternity to come.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Glenda Annette Long will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Chris Taivalkoski her son-in-law, David Bragg, and her grandsons, Drew Bragg and Spencer Bragg officiating.
