Mrs. Gladys Joyce Givens age 76 of Cleveland, Tennessee, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the local hospital. She was born January 14, 1943 in Mississippi, a daughter of the late Rupert Lester and Bertha Viola Harris Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Johnny Givens, children, Jonathan Cronic, Cynthia White, Nancy Cronic, brothers, Chandler, Waylon, Les, Claude, Bill, Charles and Alvin Davis, sisters, Frances Griggs, Mildred Parker.

She is survived by her children, Linda Cook of Acworth, GA, Angela and Mike Howard of Cleveland, TN, Connie Pendergrass of Rome, GA, Chris Barry Cronic, of Dalton, Brian Paul Givens of Calhoun, GA, Dave Cronic of Jasper, GA, Glenn Cronic of Carrolton, GA; sister, Virginia Woodall of Dalton, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gladys Joyce Givens will be held Saturday June 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
